How silly are we really
To go along with all these lies
These lies back stab us
Hard in the gut, too.
They rule us, they dominate us
The ridicule us, take advantage of us
Without our knowing --
It’s cruel, really.
How dare it take us by storm like this
And also, we barely know
We barely know otherwise
That’s the trick
We are sucked in
Vacuum,
Tunnel vision,
No light coming through.
We are fooled
Fooled to the end
No wonder
There is more,
No wonder there is better --
Because we’ve been oh so blinded.
In Common Light
Rooted reflections on belonging and being
