What are words, really?
Besides mere black and white ink
A simple line, perhaps
One that we have seen
Time and time again
Over and over without meaning, simply imprinted onto paper.
You look once, and they're nothing --
Mere words that hold nothing.
But
This time around, you look and
Something happens.
The look deepens
And quickly, without realizing, as smooth as ever,
A feeling arises
The words are no longer
A mere print
But instead are
Full in
spirit and feeling
Full in
flesh and wisdom.
You are encapsulated by these words.
You have lived now, you have
Felt those words as more
Than what they once were
This is growth
This is triumph.
You have lived in rawness
Truly
And will only continue to.

I have experienced this sense of inner beauty (see my poem What are words, really?). […]
