I see you
I see you struggling
Holding on for dear life
To your morals

Constructing something
For them to be positive
Intact

I see you hiding silently
With your pain
In the corner of a room
Lonely as ever
And I see you asking
Isn’t there more to this life?

I see you in your shame
Your loneliness
Your deep desire to actually connect
to be seen.

I see
Your posting on instagram
Trying to convince others
Your life is good
But really
It’s
More to yourself

I see you
Scrolling online
For a new outfit
A new product
To fit in
To feel good
To have a sense of belonging

I see you withering away
Sometimes
At the difficulty of life
Not wanting to be outcasted
Ridiculed

And I see you
Feeling shameful
For being above
For feeling ignorant
Stupid and uneducated.

I see you scrambling to lessen that feeling
Meeting up with others
To confirm you are not immoral.

I see you
When the world may not.
When you have no love
Implanted in your heart
To object those judgements,
To object the hatred,
To rise above it,
I do see you.

I once was you
So I see you and
I know there is more for you
I see you and know there is better for you
I see you and know there is hope for you.
